Mike Ashley has literally ripped the shirt off Dave Kings back with a court judgement forbidding the tribute act from wearing Hummel kit next season!

Hummel are one year into a three year deal with the troubled Ibrox club. Last Monday a 28 page verdict presented a humiliating defeat for the South African based businessman who thought that he had outfoxed the Sports Direct owner last summer.

King and his sidekick James Blair handed the club kit deal to Hummel with Elite to manage distribution and were almost instantly dragged to court with restrictions put on the launch of three new kits.

The club from Ibrox chose to ignore that ruling with an online store opening in late September with a city centre shop opening in December.

After a number of court appearances King was warned last week that he was facing damages mounting to ‘many millions of pounds’, today more detail was put on the ruling with the final bill being published on September 23.

Today Judge Lionel Persey ruled:

Rangers shall not perform the Elite/Hummel Agreement. Rangers shall not assist Elite or Hummel to perform the Elite/Hummel Agreement. And Rangers shall inform Elite and Hummel that it will not perform the Elite/Hummel Agreement.

‘Rangers’ could be held in contempt of court, fined, or have assets seized if they fail to comply with the order. Club directors risk a fine or even jail if they breach the court ruling.

As well as his payout to Sports Direct King now faces claims from Hummel and Elite that are likely to be vigorously contested ending up in defeat with the club from Ibrox paying out legal costs.
