Romain Perraud is on the brink of signing a four year contract with Brest.

The left back, who spent last season on loan at FC Paris, was strongly linked with Celtic until the signing of Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo. Despite the signing of the Belgian it’s believed that Celtic retained an interest in Perraud dependent on Kieran Tierney joining Arsenal.

Le Telegramme reports:

Left-back Romain Perraud (21) is expected to join Stade Brestois in the coming days. The player, who belongs to OGC Nice but has shown up on loan at Paris FC last season, should commit, source for Nice, four seasons.

The 21-year-old appeared to be determined to quit Nice after impressing last season on loan with FC Paris. Celtic have been strongly active in the French market in recent seasons with £16m spent to bring Odsonne Edouard and Christopher Jullien to the club.

With Bolingoli-Mbombo and Johnny Hayes currently available, as well as Tierney in rehab, left-back appears to be an area of the team that Celtic are well covered in.

Neil Lennon has expressed a wish to add to his squad with the next deadline falling at 11pm on Tuesday,, assuming that Sarajevo don’t pull off a shock, against Shkendija or Kalju in the second qualifying round of the Champions League.
