Three weeks after signing from Toulouse in a £7m deal Christopher Jullien has still to make his competitive debut for Celtic.

A 57 minute run out against Rennes last Saturday looked like putting him into contention for some game time against Sarajevo in midweek but the new bhoy say that one out on the bench.

Nomme Kalju aren’t much of a step up in quality from the Bosnian champions but Lennon will assess Jullien in the build up to Wednesday’s match before deciding if he can play a part in the second round qualifier.

Discussing the fitness of the Frenchman Lennon told the Daily Record:

Jullien has only played 50 minutes since May. He’s only been around for two or three weeks so there’s a bit of rust. He’ll be fitter and sharper after another week of training. Whether he starts the next Euro game is something we’ll gauge as we go along.

With no sign of a match fit right-back coming into the side it looks like Kris Ajer will continue at right-back on Wednesday leaving Jullien to contest with Jozo Simunovic and Nir Bitton for a place in central defence.

Before Celtic take on the Estonian champions they will find out their their third round opponents, assuming success over Nomme, with PAOK of Greece the highest ranked opponents that they could face with the draw taking place at 11am CPT on Monday.
