Kilmarnock have confirmed that they are in transfer talks with Celtic about Greg Taylor.

Sunderland have already had an offer in the region of £1m rejected by the Ayrshire side that is currently sitting at the bottom of the SPFL table with one point from three matches.

Despite signing Boli Bolingoli from Rapid Vienna Celtic are looking for a second left-back with Taylor appearing to be the main target along-with Birger Meling of Roseborg.

With five days left until the transfer window closes there isn’t much time left to negotiate a deal with The Sun confirming that talks are underway to take Taylor to Celtic:

And boss (Angelo) Alessio admits he could lose the 21-year-old before the window closes on Monday night.

The Italian said: “He’s important for us, but I understand the situation. If the club receive a right offer, I think we can lose.” Alessio also revealed that “there are some conversations” with Celtic.

It’s been suggested that Kilmarnock are looking for £3m for the defender who was a key part in the club’s revival under Steve Clarke.

With a contract running until June 2021 Kilmarnock can still drive a hard bargain but denying a player a move that is likely to increase his wages by 10 times can be frought with difficulties.
