Celtic are still on the trail of Jordon Ibe.

The name of the Bournemouth winger first surfaced last week with supporters sceptical about another winger and the financial demands of a 23-year-old that was transferred for £16m three years ago.

It all seemed a highly unlikely package but according to The Sun there is still life in the story.

BOURNEMOUTH will make a final decision on Celtic target Jordon Ibe’s future in the next few days. Neil Lennon wants to land the 23-year-old on a season-long loan deal for the Hoops but Cherries manager Eddie Howe has injury concerns and is worried about losing winger Ibe from his squad.

He came off the bench against Manchester City at the weekend and Howe still sees him as part of his plans but the former Liverpool starlet is keen to get regular starts after a frustrating spell. Talks are set to place this week, with Celtic waiting to pounce if Ibe is told he can go on loan.

On Sunday Neil Lennon said that he was hoping to bring in two or three for tomorrow’s flight to Sweden in order to prepare them for a debut at Ibrox on Sunday.

With a year left on his contract Bournemouth have to decide whether to retain Ibe and hopefully get a turn out of him or whether they are best to send him out on loan and get someone else to pay a portion of his wages.

Eddie Howe’s side took the latter option with Jermain Defoe but in that case having the club’s highest paid player on the fringes of the first team wasn’t the best for team harmony.

The potemtial arrival of Ibe closes another door on the possibility of Scott Sinclair returning to the Celtic side.
