Kris Ajer is rapidly developing into Celtic’s new poster bhoy.
The Norwegian didn’t quite come through the ranks of the hoops Academy but with each passing week Ronny Deila’s final signing is becoming a more important part of the Celtic side.
After being converted from a midfielder to a central defender by Brendan Rodgers a loan spell at Kilmarnock has helped shape the Norwegian who plays way beyond his years.
Ajer only turned 21 in April but by then had become the key man in central defence as Dedryck Boyata, Jozo Simunovic and Filip Benkovic spent time on the treatment table.
One goal-line clearance in the March derby success was celebrated wildly with the fans seeing someone that they can connect with.
This season Ajer has mainly been played at right-back which allows him more scope to push up the park as Motherwell discovered to their cost.
Right-back has been a problem position for the best part of 18 months, perhaps if another central defender can be found another Scandinavian could be taking over from Mikael Lustig.
Ajer unbelievable, what a player he’s turned out to be! Jullien looks a bit rusty and bolingoli didn’t start well but came on a good bit in the second half, edourard looked like he was gonna kill Ajer at the end lol ???????? 12 goals in two league games can’t ask for much more

No doubt about it, Ajer will become the next £25 million plus rated player at Celtic and point 2, When Ntcham is in the mood he’s the real deal and point 3, We all want to be Edouard!! HH ????????????????????????????????

Ajer absolutely outstanding ????????

Another thumping win for a makeshift #Celtic side who recovered spectacularly from a poor start. Felt Ajer was the catalyst for the 5-2 win with an impressive equaliser & resolute defending. Ruthless finishing from Griffiths, Forrest, Édouard & Christie sealed the win.

Poor 1st half, Brilliant 2nd half. Ajer was outstanding today, Ntcham certainly had one of his better games, hoping he can keep it up. Boli needs to improve defensively but given time I think he’ll come good. Big game on Tuesday but confident we’ll get the job done HH ????????????????????

Instead of paying 4 players who are dead wood 15 grand a week it would be better to pay someone like Ajer 60

terrific direct football going forward. Get back settled and we are good. Ajer at right back??? What an option.
