Odsonne Edouard’s Celtic status was already assured before today’s Derby Day masterclass.

At Ibrox in March 2017 he had taken off his tracksuit, answered the call and delivered the winning goal to his nine team-mates after Jozo Simunovic had been red carded by Willie Collum.

That goal sunk a Revolution, going into that match Graeme Murty’s stock couldn’t have been higher but after a 3-2 defeat his stint in charge was effectively over. A 4-0 defeat followed by a 5-0 mauling saw the former Reading man return to developing starlets.

Edouard only turned 21 in January but has a track record in this fixture that any striker would envy. Today he netted for the fifth time with the icy coolness than no-one else in the stadium shared.

Fed through by Mikey Johnston he drew Allan McGregor from his goal then calmly drilled the ball past the Ibrox keeper. Another Revolution is in jeopardy as the stock of French Eddie grows with every derby appearance.
