Celtic turned on the style to crush Ross County 6-0 to return to top place in the SPFL.
Neil Lennon’s squad had been away on international duty following the 2-0 defeat at Livingston but after just two days training together they showed the form of champions while sending out an emphatic message.
Mo Elyounoussi opened the scoring in the fourth minute but despite 21 attempts on goal there was no further scoring in the first half.
Neil Lennon’s pep talk worked wonders, 10 minutes into the second half Celtic were leading 5-0 thanks to a double from Odsonne Edouard and further goals from Callum McGregor and James Forrest.
There was time for one more goal, a second for Elyounoussi with the significance of that goal becoming apparent today when Steven Gerrard’s side drew 1-1 at Tynecastle meaning that Celtic are top on goals scored going into the midweek Europa League action.
Celtic return to SPFL action next Sunday away to Aberdeen.
