Marian Shved made a low-key home debut in Celtic’s 6-0 win over Ross County.

The scoring had been completed by the time that the young Ukrainian replaced James Forrest with 15 minutes left in the match.

Shved joined Celtic in January from Karpaty Lviv but was immediately loaned back to the Ukrainian side who are hoping to build development links with Celtic.

The 22-year-old played a full part in Celtic’s pre-season friendlies and looked the part when he came off the bench and scored against Nomme Kalju in a Champions League qualifier.

Unfortunately, some niggling injuries have curtailed his progress but yesterday he was given a vote of confidence by Neil Lennon who put him on the bench ahead of Scott Sinclair and Lewis Morgan.

Celtic are well off for wingers with Mo Elyounoussi scoring twice in yesterday’s match with Lennon hopeful that Mikey Johnston will soon be available again after injury.
