Greg Leigh has claimed that Scott Brown is ‘a decent player’.

The 25-year-old joined Aberdeen in the summer and after starting out at left-back was pushed forward into midfield for last week’s away win at Motherwell.

That win seems to have galvanised Derek McInnes’ side after a distressing run that saw them lose five goals at Ibrox on the back of getting knocked out of the Betfred Cup by Hearts.

Leigh is expected to start in midfield tomorrow but if he wants to find out more about his direct opponent a word with the obsessed Shay Logan should put him right.

Like Graeme Shinne, Logan was keen to develop the idea that he is some sort of rival to the Celtic skipper, when he went on his stag-do his pals dressed him up in Brown’s kit complete with a number eight on the back.

Discussing his change of position Leigh told The Sun:

On the ball in midfield is something I’m getting used to. I’m doing possession drills in training and I try to put the ball forward as much as possible.

And you’re talking, your covering, making sure you’re constantly there. Games like the one this weekend are what I came to Aberdeen for.

Anyone who wants to be a footballer wants to be involved in these games — good atmosphere, big gates and decent players. I know all about Scott Brown and I know he’s a decent player, one of the best in the league.

As well as being a decent player Brown also has a decent medal collection. Logan has got one League Cup winners medal to his name.
