Neil Lennon highlighted the role of Tom Rogic after Celtic’s 4-0 win away to Aberdeen.

The Australian was the only member of Lennon’s front four not to get on the scoresheet but that didn’t diminish his role in the Pittodrie route.

It was only Rogic’s second SPFL start of the season, both of them standing in for the suspended Ryan Christie, but there was no drop in standards from the high of beating Lazio on Thursday night.

Christie is likely to be back in the starting XI for Wednesday’s game against St Mirren but in Rogic Lennon has a fully fit match-winner ready to step in at any stage.

Covering Lennon’s post-match BT Sport interview, the Daily Record reports the Celtic boss saying:

He (Frimpong) and Forrest are a good combination, Elyounoussi and Bolingoli too, and I have to say I thought Tom Rogic just got better and better the longer the game went on. It was great to see Tom back to that level of performance because he’s an outstanding footballer.

Rogic missed Celtic’s pre-season training trip to Austria and Switzerland as Celtic attempted to get to the bottom of his fitness issues.

A knee operation in January restricted his availability last season but with a hectic programme coming up in December Lennon will be calling on his entire squad to keep up the challenge on all fronts.
