The Daily Record has touched on the scale of the disaster facing the club from Ibrox.

On Friday night the company posted their Annual Report for the year to June 2019 with red flags all over the place.

A loss of £11.3m and anticipated deficit of £10m to complete the season were the main items from the first season of funding the Gerrard Revolution. No provision has been made for the ‘many millions of pounds’ in damages due to be paid to Sports Direct in January.

Recently appointed Director of Football Ross Wilson was with the Ibrox directors at Hampden with the former Southampton star-spotter absolutely vital when January comes along.

Gerrard can forget about bringing in any new faces when the transfer window opens with Wilson in a race against time to sell players at a time in the year when the club usually looks to Close Brothers to keep the lights on until Season Ticket sales start to arrive.

The Daily Record reports:

And the former Falkirk talent-spotter appears raring to go as he looks to give his side a recruitment edge with Rangers desperate to end Celtic’s Scottish football stranglehold.

But he could face some transfer dilemmas with the club announcing an £11m loss during their annual accounts on Friday.

The future of star striker Alfredo Morelos, who has broached an Ibrox exit, will be high up on his agenda.

Since the accounting date passed £10m has been committed to transfer fees for Ryan Kent and Filip Helander. Jamie Murphy and Eros Grezda are both on long term contracts.
