Brendan Rodgers is sending a Leicester City XI to Ibrox today to help out Steven Gerrard.

During the summer transfer window Leicester agreed to a season long loan deal for Andy King with today’s match underlining the bond between the Liverpool title failures of 2014.

Jordan Jones is tipped to make his comeback in today’s closed doors match alongwith other wage-drainers such as Greg Docherty, Andy Halliday, Jamie Murphy and Eros Grezda.

With dozens of clubs within a 50 mile range of Leicester it seems odd that Rodgers should sent a side to Scotland in order to gain some match sharpness.

Filip Benkovic could be involved in the match with the Croatian defender still to play any first team football since ending his loan deal with Celtic last season.
