After half a dozen first team matches Jeremie Frimpong is already a fans favourite at Celtic. He is also picking up the lingo with a La Murella reference to Fraser Forster.

There looks to be about a foot of difference in height between the two players as the picture below illustrates but it takes all sorts to form a successful football team with the two men nowhere to be seen when Celtic kicked off the season away to Sarajevo.

Towards the end of August Forster answered the call, arriving on loan from Southampton after Scott Bain picked up an injury in the Champions League defeat from Cluj. The 31-year-old has been an outstanding signing, showcasing his ability at the highest level in the Europa League wins over Lazio.

Frimpong was facing up to a loan away from Manchester City during the transfer window when Celtic appeared on the scene with a serious proposal and permanent transfer.

Such was his progress in training that Neil Lennon gave the 18-year-old his debut in the Betfred Cup tie against Partick Thistle. Frimpong was recalled for his SPFL debut against Ross County and is now the bhoy in possession after helping the hoops to four successive clean sheets in the league.
