Dave Cormack has had a private letter from the SFA following his twitter outburst at Kris Ajer and Leigh Griffiths. No apology has been requested which suggests that the SFA are comfortable with their actions.

In the early hours of December 26, five days after losing to Celtic, Cormack accused Ajer of feigning injury with a triple salvo and also made an accusation about Leigh Griffiths.

After attracting hundreds of comments the Dons chief seemed to take a break from Twitter- failing to make any comment on the festive fixtures against Livingston and Hearts. Recently he deleted the tweet about Griffiths and Ajer.

A charge was expected from the SFA but today The Sun reports:

US-based software tycoon Cormack’s comments riled Parkhead boss Neil Lennon – who urged the SFA to investigate. And more than two weeks on from the incident, the Daily Mail claims Cormack has been given a slap on the wrists by SFA compliance officer Clare Whyte.

The paper reports that outspoken Cormack was issued a strongly-worded letter by Whyte who warned of future sanctions if there was any repeat. They also say that Aberdeen distanced themselves from Cormack’s comments and wrote to Hampden chiefs to underline the chairman’s comments don’t reflect those of the club.

Neil Lennon accused Cormack of telling lies but there has been no comment from Celtic as a club about the matter.

With Cormack let off with a warning letter other directors at clubs across Scotland are now free to make claims about players at other clubs knowing that there is no punishment coming their way.
