Chris Jullien has paid tribute to the Celtic support that have helped him settle into the club after his summer move from Toulouse.

With a winning goal at home to Lazio and the decisive strike in the League Cup Final the feeling is mutual. Generally, when you spend £7m you have a better chance of acquiring quality unless you sign Ryan Kent.

Jullien watched from the bench as Celtic tumbled out of the Champions League to Cluj but ever since his Man-of-the-Match display at Ibrox it has been onwards and upwards as fans warmed to his Superman goal celebrations.

His social media interaction has helped- even when he made a public apology for his performance in the defeat from Livingston that brought criticism from some pundits.

Jullien buckled down, took in the learning curve of dealing with everything from plastic surfaces to Scottish referees as Celtic’s season build momentum.

Since the turn of the year he has played in every match with scoring contributions against Kilmarnock, Hamilton and Hearts.

When the story of this season is chronicled a 4-1 win at Hamilton might not leap out but with the scores level and 12 minutes left to play he showed the composure of a striker to redirect a Ryan Christie cross into the net to break the will of the Accies defence.
