Alfredo Morelos is missing from Steven Gerrard’s side for tonight’s Scottish Cup clash with Hearts.
The highly rated striker was suspended for Wednesday’s Europa League tie against Braga but was expected to go straight into the side for tonight’s clash at Tynecastle.
When the team was published Greg Stewart is listed as the sole striker with Jermain Defoe on the bench after a month out through a calf injury. Flo Kamberi is cup tied.
Despite the usual batch of speculation before the transfer window opened there were absolutely no bids for Morelos during January.
Last week at St Johnstone Gerrard made specific mention of a chance missed by the former HJK Helsinki starlet, straight afterwards Steve Davis replaced the striker with St Johnstone equalising shortly afterwards.
Since the turn of the year Morelos has only scored one goal, missing three domestic matches through injury with his suspension against Braga following a booking in the first leg.
