Neil Lennon has compared Ryan Christie’s cross for Celtic’s second goal at Hamilton to Kevin de Bruyne.

The Manchester City man is recognised as one of the best midfielder’s in the business and the driving force behind much of the success that Pep Guardiola has enjoyed at the Etihad Stadium.

Christie was the link between a quickly taken Jonny Hayes throw-in and a deft finish from Chris Jullien that put Celtic in front and earned the praise of his boss.

Speaking to Celtic TV tonight (5 minutes 10 seconds)

His energy is fantastic, his enthusiasm is fantastic but more than anything it’s his quality. The quality of the ball for the second goal (cross for Chris Jullien) is de-Bruyne-esque. Having Ryan back after being out for a month is such a bonus for us.

Tom Rogic came on did a great job, Jonny Hayes did a great job but Ryan is having a fantastic season and we’ll be seeing more of him as we go along.

Christie missed three matches through suspension and sat out last Wednesday’s 3-0 win over St Johnstone on the substitute bench.

The former Inverness Caley Thistle midfielder replaced Olivier Ntcham after 62 minutes yesterday and seems certain to be in from the start against Motherwell on Wednesday.

Sunday’s win put Celtic seven points clear at the top of the SPFL Premiership.
