After less than 48 hours in the spotlight Stuart Gibson has quietly slipped off the radar as the problems at Ibrox deepen.
On Tuesday morning the Daily Record revealed that the Hong Kong based businessman was on the verge of ploughing millions into the club but almost as soon as his name surfaced Gibbo has gone to ground.
In November 2010 Craig Whyte had a PR campaign all ready to be rolled out as soon as the billionaire from Motherwell was introduced to Record readers.
Yesterday the Record had to inform their readers that Gibbo was considering an investment but concentrating on his Asian business interests.
Today there is radio silence on the man from Paisley. Nada. Zilch.
The problems at Ibrox however remain. Court action from Sports Direct, Hummel/Elite, Memorial Walls and a Wifi company remain unresolved, there is no kit supplier for next season and a £10m gap in finances for the current season.
Other than a brief statement to the Press Association to deny selling his shares Dave King has had nothing to add to his claim made to shareholders in November that he was stepping down as chairman. Walking away.

It’s unlikely that Ibrox will host another match before May at the earliest, next week the players are due their March wages which could drain away the money brought in from the Europa League ties against Braga and Bayer Leverkusen.
