A ‘mystery club’ wants the SPFL season declared null and void.

The opinion is so unworkable that the mystery club is afraid to tell it’s own fans about their view.

After taking season ticket money and providing 15 out of 19 home matches the ‘mystery club’ wants to pretend that it never really happened.

Adding to their brass neck ‘mystery club’ wants a full pay out of prize money based on positions after 30 matches.

The Chief Executive of the ‘mystery club’ can open negotiations with Sky Sports, Ladbrokes, BT Sport, Mitre and others to explain why they should pay up in full for 30 matches that are best forgotten.

With Celtic 13 points clear despite having the hardest fixture list- including double visits to Aberdeen, Motherwell and Livingston- there is very little likelihood of that lead being overturned.

In contrast Steven Gerrard has only taken his side away to face Celtic, Aberdeen, Motherwell, Livingston and Hibs once while Aberdeen, Livi and Hibs have all been to Ibrox twice.

Andy Newport of PA (Press Association) Sport has been chosen to release the news knowing that a 7pm story presented to the Sports Desk of newspapers is likely to dominate tomorrow’s back page in old media.

The Daily Record reports:

A source told PA: “There is no good answer. We don’t see how titles, promotion or relegation can be agreed on any basis of sporting fairness. Perhaps prize money can be split on the basis of the current table.

“But the league should be ruled void and we start next season as we commenced this one. Making the season void is the best of a bunch of bad choices.”

Perhaps the ‘mystery club’ would carry more credibility if they put their name to their comments given to PA.

Neil Lennon has already stated Celtic’s opinion on the issue, Derek McInnes was equally blunt claiming that ‘we can’t claim that games that happened didn’t happen’.

Since the announcement of the suspension of football by the SFA and SPFL there has been one statement from Ibrox, Steven Gerrard cancelled his scheduled media conference for Friday.
