Paddy McCourt has revealed that he is in a period of self-isolation.
With little sign of a resumption of football the seriousness of the situation is hitting home with each passing day bringing new developments.
Last night the UK went into partial lock down with pubs, restaurants, cinemas, gym and theatres closing for the last time to delay the spread of Coronavirus.
Celtic fans should have been looking forward to a home match against St Johnstone today but there is no indication when that match or any other will be played.
The SPFL has contacted the Scottish Government about grounds being closed until July 1 to enable clubs to make insurance claims.
Celtic fans have been quick to share their support on-line for McCourt who created thousands of memories during his five years with the club.
‘The Derry Pele’ scored some incredible goals with mazy solo runs followed by a deft finish past a bewildered goalkeeper almost his trademark.
After Celtic he weaved some magic at Barnsley, Brighton and Luton Town before returning to Ireland, finally hanging up his boots in 2018 at Finn Harps.
McCourt has now returned to his native Derry where he is head of Derry City’s Academy.
Spent the last 8 days self-isolating, only leaving the house to buy food or go for a walk . I’ve not loved it but I’ve certainly not hated it ?. Stay positive & keep the mind right , it could be much worse ?.

You’re a class act Paddy. Once this all ends I suggest u team up with @msceducation and launch your own brand of soccer schools in the North. Dual input. Aim for all big towns particularly North West.

I’m just imagining you running through the gaff with a football, dropping the shoulder and sending doorframes the wrong way.
