Andy Halliday has picked his All Time XI from players that he has lined up with and claimed that Alfredo Morelos is the best striker in the SPFL Premiership.

The Colombian striker has scored the same amount of goals against Celtic as True Blue Halliday who is out of contract in June.

The team selected is a who’s he of mediocrity reflecting Halliday’s career which has been spent mainly as a utility man getting games when others have been injured.

Discussing El Buffalo, he told The Sun:

Alfredo is in there for his performances, it’s as simple as that. I’ve played with top strikers but I don’t think anyone I’ve played with has been in the form that Alfredo has been.

He’s been the best player in the league hands down and he’s scored a lot of league goals, but again I think his performances in Europe were exceptional. It’s not easy to lead the line yourself but it’s a lot more difficult in Europe against higher class opposition. For somebody his size he just continues to bully defenders.

He’s a nut job but there are a few nut jobs in my team actually! But Alfredo is a good lad.

Morelos is the joint third top scorer in this season’s SPFL Premiership alongside Christian Doidge of Hibs with 12 goals from 26 matches. Odsonne Edouard is out in front with 22 goals from 27 matches followed by Jermain Defoe who has scored 13 times in 20 appearances.

In 2016 Halliday was part of Mark Warburton’s Petrofac Cup winning side.

Halliday XI: Allan McGregor; James Tavernier, Johnathan Woodgate, Ben Gibson, Wallace: Kevin Thomson, Barry Ferguson, Kieron Dyer; Kenny Miller, Alfredo Morelos, Kris Boyd.
