Castore Fever is sweeping Ibrox.

Since commercial whiz-kid James Bisgrove mentioned a new retail and merchandising deal for next season rumours have spread like wildfire of a deal even more wonderful than the incredible Hummel deal of 2018.

In February the iconic chevrons, to quote Stewart Robertson, terminated their Ibrox deal after repeated problems with the company hamstrung by the matching rights of Sports Direct.

With no credible company wanting associated with the unfolding disaster at Ibrox a little known retailer has emerged as a progressive market leader, an upcoming brand ready to use the global reach of the shirt worn by James Tavernier to muscle in alongside Nike and Adidas.

Speculation over the explosive SPFL dossier has virtually disappeared with a website whose editor boasts less than 2,000 Twitter followers providing The Sun with a good news story that has escaped their own well-established team of reporters:

And now SportCal claim a five-year deal has been struck which will see the Ibrox side rake in £4m a season.

It comes after Gers appeared to confirm that their long-running dispute with Sports Direct was over.

The Ibrox club have been mired in a series of legal rows with Sports Direct owner Mike Ashley for seven years over claims to the club’s merchandising rights.

That deal ends in July, with the club’s commercial and marketing director James Bisgrove confident Gers are at the start of a new era as they get set to announce a new partnership.

Castore haven’t commented on the speculation over the weekend. With turnover of £2m, two shops and an HQ in the middle of a Liverpool Industrial Estate they will have to up their game considerably to meet the demands of worldwide bears.
