Celtic are reported to be interested in Legia Warsaw defender Michal Karbownik.

The 19-year-old is in his first season with the Polish side, making 19 appearances, and would fall into the ‘project category’ of signing.

Over the last 18 months Celtic have had virtually no return from Ismaila Soro, Patryk Klimala, Maryan Shved and Vakoun Bayo who have struggled for game time with Shved and Soro yet to start a competitive match.

Scouting operations have been scaled back with no details of when football will resume or how the transfer window will operate but the Daily Record reports:

Celtic are keeping tabs on Legia Warsaw’s Michal Karbownik.

Hoops scouts have watched him twice this season in the Polish league but the club will have to beat Dynamo Moscow and Real Betis to land the attacking left-back.

Last summer Boli Bolingoli was signed from Rapid Vienna without speaking to Neil Lennon with the Belgian failing to win his place back in the side after being injured in the autumn.

With Jonny Hayes out of contract in the summer Greg Taylor will be the only left-back with top team experience.
