Steven Gerrard is set to lose out on his first choice striker for the new campaign.

At the end of January the Ibrox boss swooped to take Flo Kamberi to Ibrox as he searched for back-up to Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe.

Instantly the former Grasshoppers striker was talking up his dream move and how his aim throughout his time with Hibs was to earn a move to Ibrox. It is a familiar script to feed to the gullible.

Hibs fans didn’t take kindly to the comments but with the season halted in March Kamberi is officially back at Easter Road but the Edinburgh side are now pushing to get him out the door.

The Sun reports:

FLORIAN KAMBERI looks to have played his last game for Hibs — but is set to miss out on a dream move to Rangers.

SunSport understands former Ibrox loan ace Kamberi has been targeted by clubs from FIVE different countries.

The Swiss-born frontman impressed on loan during the second half of last season following a January switch from Easter Road.

With Kamberi set to move elsewhere Gerrard is back in the situation he found himself in at the turn of the year.

One striker that finds suspensions easier than goals and a 37-year-old veteran that needs to be used sparingly.
