Jeremie Frimping has been voted into the SPFL Team of the Season.

The teenager made a massive impact when he was introduced to the Celtic side in the autumn and topped an online poll of 28,000.

Frimpong attracted 56% of the vote for the right-back role which was twice as much as James Tavernier who has become used to finishing in second place over the last few years.

Without any top team experience Celtic signed Frimpong from Manchester City at the end of the summer transfer window but from his first training sessions Neil Lennon realised that he wasn’t just another project signing.

After making his debut in the League Cup tie against Partick Thistle on September 25 he made his SPFL debut against Ross County three weeks later and quickly established himself as first choice right-back.

In December he suffered on the sidelines after being sent off in the League Cup Final but provided one of the best interviews of the season afterwards when he introduced the phrase ‘Oh my days’ to Scottish football.
