Sports Direct will be selling the new-look Ibrox kit created by Castore from 1 August.

In May the Liverpool based company claimed the exclusive deal to produce and sell the kit after Hummel pulled the plug just over halfway through a three year contract.

Castore have been praised for their breakthrough technology with Ibrox fans drooling over the new look kit from the company that has never before been involved in a football deal.

From 8am this morning orders flooded in to their site for the 50,000 units available from August 1 but this afternoon the sting in the tail emerged.

The Ibrox board were quick to publicise and praise the Castore deal but there was no confirmation that Sports Direct had given up on their matching rights.

In 2018 Sports Direct served court papers on Hummel to delay sales of the new look kit after they had been denied matching rights. Damages to Sports Direct have still to be determined by the High Court on London.

With Sports Direct apparently again involved the whizz kids at Castore might find the reaction of Ibrox fans to their arrival has been reversed.
