Ibrox starlet Young McCrorie has joined Aberdeen on a season long loan ahead of making the move permanent next summer for a fee believed to be around £185,500.
It brings an end to the hopes and dreams of the young utility man who progressed all the way through the ranks of the Murray Park Conveyor Belt.
When Pedro Caixinha gave the teenager his debut as a substitute against Partick Thistle in September 2017 he was proclaimed as the greatest central defender ever produced in Scottish football history. A young John Greig was the view of many wise observers.
A few days later at Ibrox he was swiping at fresh air as Leigh Griffiths led Celtic to a comfortable 2-0 derby day success.
The Club tonight confirms the loan signing of Scotland Under 21 International, Ross McCrorie, from Rangers on a deal until the end of the 2020/21 season.
Ross will become a permanent Aberdeen player in June 2021 on a three-year deal.
Welcome to Pittodrie Ross!

Graeme Murty soon took over the development of Young McCrorie but after being sent off in the 4-0 Scottish Cup semi-final in April 2018 followed by a starring role in the 5-0 title clincher it was obvious that the teenager was a chocolate tea-pot.
A season on loan at Portsmouth helped Steven Gerrard ease the utility man out the door, last night he joined Aberdeen after just over 50 appearances with the Tribute Act.
Greg Docherty is believed to be close to joining Stoke City with deal-maker Ross Wilson working on deals to get rid of Jamie Murphy, Jordan Jones, Glenn Middleton and Greg Stewart.
