President Meta is getting spoiled with Albanian connections at Celtic Park.
Just over a year ago the President of Albania bumped into some Celtic fans at a Champions League qualifier in Satajevo and has been following the hoops ever since.
Recently a Celtic themed pub opened up with a visit from the President, now his eye has been caught by an exciting young talent with a familiar surname making his way through the Academy system at Celtic Park.
Rising star! ??
Rocco Vata is the future!
A young and really talented footballer who is following in his father’s footsteps! #RudiVata
The history of Albanians?? with #CelticFC will be long and successful!
Hail Hail! ?? pic.twitter.com/Rd9VcbGIGQ— Ilir Meta (@ilirmetazyrtar) August 19, 2020
Last season Rocco Vata played for the Ireland u-15 side thanks to his granny’s eligibility but as his career develops, he’ll have options to play for Scotland and Albania.
The reel above certainly shows a midfielder with ability but after Lockdown the Celtic Academy just resumed training this week.
President Meta has Albian Ajeti to follow after his £5m, transfer from West Ham but he’ll be keeping an eye on the progress of Vata Jnr and the prospect of a career with Celtic and Albania.
