Celtic have made a significant change to their media relations by making pre-match media conferences by Zoom invite only.

Since the season started at the beginning of August reporters have been invited to Celtic Park or Lennoxtown to question Neil Lennon and a selected player.

Around the time of the Boli Boligoli issue it led to lively and quite emotional exchanges as the Celtic boss recounted the movements of the player that resulted in two matches being postponed.

Today Scott Brown met the media with a carefully arranged schedule with selected broadcasters each allowed to ask two questions.

Sky Sports led the way followed by the Press Association and BBC Scotland with the format greatly reducing the likelihood of a line of questions evolving that create a worthwhile news headline.

Brown is time-served at dealing with the media as they flirt around an issue waiting for a word out of place that someone can follow up on.

Today’s media conference was par for the course with the answers as predictable as the questions with nothing out of the ordinary given away.
