Neil Lennon is hoping for a quiet week on the transfer front as he prepares his side for matches against Sarajevo and St Johnstone.

The Celtic boss can expect daily speculation about his players with Brighton in for Odsonne Edouard and Ryan Christie apparently a target for Burnley.

This transfer window is like no other with the free spending days of the EPL on hold as CEO’s and managers discover exactly what ‘unprecedented times’ mean for the football industry.

The usual flow of transfers hasn’t happened yet with loan deals expected to be the solution for the frustrated managers looking to add two more faces to their squad before next Monday night.

Lennon has been able to bring in Vasilis Barkas, Albian Ajeti and David Turnbull on permanent deals with the boost of having Shane Duffy and Moi Elyounoussi for this potentially historic season.

No players have been transferred out of Celtic so far with the Celtic boss hoping that that remains the situation when the window closes.

Lennon told The Sun:

We knew the date coming into it and I’m not exclusive to this, a lot of managers will be in the same position. You get to take a deep breath after October 5 and look forward to the rest of the season, or at least until January.

I am hoping it will be pretty quiet. We would like to get another player in, one more if we can. I would be absolutely delighted if that’s going to be the outcome but I can’t predict what’s going to happen one way or the other.

Celtic face Hibs today in the SPFL, looking to extend their winning run to six games following the Champions League defeat from Ferencvaros.
