Chris Sutton put his own unique take on Charlie Nicholas’ bizarre outburst at Celtic’s transfer business.
Sitting at his desk composing a column for The Express Nicholas claimed that Neil Lennon would be disappointed at the cut price approach of Celtic to the transfer window.
That will be the window that brought in a goalkeeper, striker and central defender ready to go straight into the team while the problem left sided issue was addressed by signing a Uruguayan internationalist with a wealth of Serie A experience.
I’m not sure what Charlie Nicholas is sitting there thinking… but to keep hold of all his best players and bring in another left sider represents a really good transfer window…

With no departures it was as positive a window as most Celtic supporters could have wished for. Over the two previous summers Kieran Tierney and Moussa Dembele were sold with no sign of adequate replacements arriving.
While Nicholas was expressing concern for Lennon the Celtic boss told yesterday’s media conference that signing Messi and Ronaldo wouldn’t have satisfied the critic from The Express.
