Albian Ajeti is winning his battle to be available for the Glasgow derby on October 17.

The striker suffered a hamstring injury scoring Celtic’s second goal in the 3-0 win over Hibs on September 27.

Ajeti missed the wins over Sarajevo and St Johnstone but is stepping up his rehab at Lennoxtown while many of his team-mates are away on international duty.

Lennon told the Daily Record:

Albian is feeling good. I spoke to him Tuesday morning when he came in to do some running and I hope he’ll join us again for training at the end of this week or the start of next week.

Lennon was speaking before last night’s news broke that Odsonne Edouard had tested positive while on international duty with the French u-21 side.

All season the Celtic boss has had to juggle his striking options with Ajeti, Patryk Klimala and Leigh Griffiths still to complete a full 90 minutes of competitive action.

Klimala and Griffiths came to the rescue against St Johnstone to take Celtic’s winning run to eight on the bounce and stake their claims for a starting place in the derby clash.
