Celtic’s Official Facebook account has taken to trolling Charlie Nicholas after his cut-price summary of the club’s transfer activity.
With three hours to spare last night Diego Laxalt was signed on loan from AC Milan to make it six signings with no major departures although Fraser Forster’s return to Southampton was a big blow.
Newspaper deadlines get earlier and earlier these days, whether Nicholas was fully aware of the Laxalt deal being completed isn’t known but his criticism of the club had a familiar ring to it, almost as familiar as the phrase he wore to death on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday show.

Pundits used to have free reign to criticise clubs without any comeback but at lunchtime today Neil Lennon made his opinion of Nicholas clear having been informed for over a decade of the negative commentary that the former striker has offered of the club that gave him his chance in football.
With his days alongside Jeff Sterling at Sky Sports now over the Express is Nicholas’ main media outlet, expect more criticism from that source with the Celtic social media team ready to bite back.
