Nir Bitton is in the Israel side to face Scotland tonight at Hampden, alongside Celtic team-mate Hatem Abd Elhamed. Callum McGregor starts for Scotland.
A week ago Bitton was injured in the first 10 minutes of Celtic’s win over Sarajevo with Neil Lennon immediately voicing his concern about the extent of the injury.
After the game the Celtic boss was unsure whether the Israeli would be available for the Glasgow derby on October 17 with Bitton sitting out Sunday’s win over St Johnstone.
Israeli boss Willi Ruttensteiner included the 28-year-old in his squad for tonight’s match but refused to be drawn on whether he would be involved at Hampden.
With two Nations League matches to follow on Sunday and Wednesday Lennon is left on the outside looking in to see whether or not Bitton will be available for the most important domestic match of the season.
