Neil Lennon has spoken out about indefensible performances on the eve of Celtic’s match at Motherwell.

Thursday’s 4-1 defeat from Sparta Prague opened up a barrage of criticism with Lennon the main target closely followed by a team of players all playing below their potential.

That has been the case almost all season but with one win in their last six matches criticism has grown with Lennon talking about the squad needing a culture change.

Managers are paid to deliver results not culture change with all eyes on Lennon today to see if he can get a result and performance out of the squad.

In the main I think that I have been pretty fair and on top of them but sometimes performances are indefensible.

Motherwell have won four of their last five matches and seem to be finding their pre-Christmas 2019 form that had them challenging Aberdeen for third place before Lockdown.

After losing 2-1 to Ferencvaros in October Celtic enjoyed a routine 3-0 win over Motherwell at Celtic Park, after a flat first half the introduction of Patryk Klimala at half time gave Celtic shape and purpose.
