Celtic are reported to have quoted Roma a £13m price tag for Jeremie Frimpong.

In September 2018 Celtic signed the teenager from Manchester City- by the turn of the year he was an essential part of Neil Lennon’s side.

This season it has been difficult to nail down Frimpong’s best position but having just turned 20 it seems that he has a massive future in the game with a contract running until 2023.

The Sun claims:

REPORTS in Italy claim that Roma are keen to take Celtic full back Jeremie Frimpong to Serie A. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the 20-year-old has come to the attention of manager Paulo Fonseca and the Hoops have quoted the Italian giants a price tag of £13.5million for the player.

Should the deal go through, a clause inserted in the deal which took Frimpong from Manchester City means the Parkhead side would have to hand 30% of the transfer fee back to the Etihad.

Paying over 30% of any fee to Manchester City shouldn’t be a major issue with a fee of £300,000 securing his move in the first place.

With Hatem Abd Elhamed expected to move to Israel next month and James Forrest out injured Neil Lennon is short of options on the right hand side of the park.

Kris Ajer, Ryan Christie, Odsonne Edouard and Olivier Ntcham could be on the move next summer rather than entering the final year of their deals meaning that retaining other regulars like Frimpong will be essential to ensure some form of continuity.
