Chris Sutton hopes that the out-going Neil Lennon will one day be respected as a Celtic legend.

Judging by the reaction to that comment on his Twitter feed it will be a long wait before Lennon’s successes start to compare with the disastrous season that he has presided over.

At the weekend he claimed that it wasn’t an unmitigated disaster but by breakfast time this morning it looks like Lennon will be left at home as the Celtic players are briefed about the immediate future under John Kennedy.

A year ago Lennon was very much in credit with the Celtic support but as a few have noted previously you are only as good as your last result.

He survived a couple of 4-1’s from Sparta Prague having blamed want-away players for Ferencvaros but a second defeat from Ross County was too much as the Celtic hierarchy realised that they couldn’t bluff their way through till the summer.

The formalities will be completed today but it’s much more likely that Lennon will be popping up in pundit-land long before he is making a half-time Windfall Draw as the second Celtic manager to have completed 9-in-a-row.
