Steven Gerrard understands the law breaking of the Ibrox Covidiots (fans and employees).
Aware of large crowds gathering at Ibrox on Saturday morning the club manager decided to car share to allow his passenger to create and share a video of his triumphant arrival as Police Officers struggled to contain the crowds. Fans enjoyed their illegal gathering, mixing with Randoms from outside their bubble, singing and chanting while law abiding families aren’t allowed to meet up in their gardens.
After the final whistle players rushed to a gate to interact with fans, sharing scarves and flags.
Back in the dressing room the windows were opened to share special moments with thousands of law breakers outside. Gerrard hung out the window to take the acclaim, sharing the celebrations.
Picking up on a report by the Press Association on Saturday’s law breaking that he had recorded and taken part in, the Daily Mail reports:
Safety is paramount at the moment but it’s tough because it has been an emotional three years for me. The fans have been here for much longer than that and have been through a lot in 10 years. So, you can certainly understand it.
With all that build up the carnage in Glasgow City Centre was entirely predictable, to quote Mister Gerrard you can certainly understand it.
