Leigh Griffiths grabbed a stoppage time equaliser for Celtic at Aberdeen in a match that the Hoops dominated throughout.

It should have been a comfortable win for the visitors but in the end they were grateful for the late header from the substitute following Moi Elyounoussi’s cross.

A 17th minute close range effort from Lewis Ferguson- from a corner kick- looked like giving Aberdeen a rare home win against Celtic but with three minutes of stoppage time played Griffiths netted with the last touch of the match.

Celtic should have been home and dry long before Griffiths struck but the weakness from set-pieces and inability to convert chances again proved costly.

Odsonne Edouard was the main sinner around goal but shortly before half time he did put the ball in the net but the assistant wrongly flagged for offside with Willie Collum happy to go along with mistake.

On the hour mark Griffiths replaced Edouard but he made little impact on the match until his stoppage time header found the net.

David Turnbull hit the bar early in the second half but it was a night of frustration for John Kennedy’s side made bearable only by Griffiths’ late salvage act.
