The shine was taken off Celtic’s best domestic win of the season with an injury to James Forrest.

It was the first time since September that the winger had started an SPFL match but after 58 minutes he was off the park, replaced by Ryan Christie.

Forrest had opened the scoring, helped Celtic into a comfortable lead when suddenly he was in a bit of discomfort making a routine pass.

After some treatment Forrest went off the park, no chances were being taken after a five month absence with a player who appeared to transform the team.

Celtic tweeted ‘Speedy recovery Jamesy’ with a message that echoed the concerns of the fans watching at home on Celtic TV.

Moi Elyounoussi scored his second goal, Christie added a sixth but it was the fitness of Forrest that occupied the thoughts of the Celtic support as the match drew to a close.

After the final whistle John Kennedy was asked the substitution, he said that Forrest’s back was stiff and that there was some tightness in his hamstring.

The coming days will decide whether or not Forrest can play at Ibrox next week, all eyes will be on the video clips from Lennoxtown this week.
