John Kennedy was delighted by Celtic’s 6-0 win over Livingston but cautious over the prospects of James Forrest being available for Ibrox next weekend.
The winger was starting his first SPFL match since September but came off after 58 minutes to be replaced by Ryan Christie.
There was no obvious knock but after making a routine pass he pulled up, after a short spell of treatment he headed straight up the tunnel with Celtic leading 4-0.
Moi Elyounoussi and Christie added to the scoreline to give Celtic their best domestic result of the season but much will depend on Forrest’s fitness the state of mind that the team go into next week’s match in.
Stiffness in his back and tightness in his hamstring was the verdict from Kennedy with the good news being that he went off straight away with no attempt made to run it off or play on.
As Celtic discovered in September when Forrest injured an ankle there is no real alternative to the Scotland winger, if he isn’t available the team will have to change shape.
