A paramedic on duty in George Square has given a harrowing account of their Saturday shift to Radio Clyde.
Despite numerous attempts to discuss football or put Saturday’s events down as banter or high-jinks the enormity of the events is starting to get through to traditional media outlets.
You could almost hear the shock in the studio as an NHS worker gave a first-hand account of their experience of being under attack physically and verbally. Having worked through a year long pandemic the worker was clearly traumatised by the events in Scotland’s largest city.
“I was a paramedic serving on Saturday. The whataboutery has to stop. Never has anything like this been witnessed in any city in Scotland. The level of abuse we took… we were spat on, the sectarian language we endured from the moment the Rangers fans arrived at George Square” pic.twitter.com/fOcIjy0U9n

Only 28 arrests were made on Saturday with five Police Officers injured. A dedicated team has been set up by Police Scotland to trawl through CCTV and Social Media footage to identify those involved, one fan reported to A & E with half of his hand missing.
With Glasgow in Tier 3 it is illegal to gather in public, for over 20 years it has been against the law to drink alcohol in public in the city.
