Rocco Vata scored a hat-trick today as Celtic’s u-17 side defeated Queen of the South 5-1 in the CAS Cup.
Details are thinner than usual but provide a little glimmer of hope as the vast body of Celtic fans question almost every area of the club.
Vata is the unique kid, born to Scottish and Albanian parents but playing for Ireland to the delight of his Granny based in Lanarkshire.

At 15 he is entering the toughest years of his career as he switches to the professional ranks and a number of fresh challenges as he attempts the big breakthrough.
Under-age football has had virtually a full year out but with summer approaching and lighter nights there is time for some catch-up as clubs come out of hibernation.
Celtic have recently shown a greater willingness to send their youngest players out on loan with Brody Patterson spending the season at Queens Park and Ewan Otoo making 14 appearances for Clyde since going out on loan on March 22.
