Tobi Oluwayemi has added two years onto his Celtic contract, keeping him at the club until at least 2024.

The teenage keeper signed from Tottenham in 2019 and is now ready to push on towards top team action with Celtic Colts playing in the Lowland League with the first matches being played next month.

Last season Scott Bain, Vasilis Barkas and Conor Hazard shared first team duties with that position likely to be a priority for Ange Postecoglou to resolve.

Oluwayemi has been a regular in the England international set up over the last few seasons but is now looking forward to testing himself against clubs like Cumbernauld Colts, Bonnyrigg Rose and Caledonian Braves in the season ahead.

He told the Celtic website:

The pathway and vision seemed right for me so I’m really happy. It’s a good feeling and it gives me more time to focus on doing what I need to do on the pitch and trying to progress on the pitch.

I’d love to eventually break into the first-team squad and be competing and playing at the highest level I possibly can. All you can ask for as a chance and seeing Conor Hazard getting chances to play is great. I’m younger than him so I’ll push and try to get a chance in the future as well.

Celtic will likely be fielding an u-19 side in the Lowland League in the season ahead which promises to bridge the gap between the Academy and Professional set-ups.
