Celtic are reported to have made an official bid for Valentin Rosier from Sporting Lisbon.
Right-back is a position that has caused Celtic problems since Mickael Lustig’s best days with Rosier looking like an ideal solution.
Last season the 24-year-old was on loan at Besiktas from Sporting Lisbon with the Portuguese side believed to be keen to sell the defender who is under contract until 2024.
There is still a great deal of wariness about the transfer market after the events of the last 15 months with Celtic well aware of that with the prices being quoted for Kris Ajer and Odsonne Edouard.

Rosier has picked up seven French u-21 caps with a return to his homeland probably the most likely outcome but the French market is uncertain after difficulties last season with broadcasting deals.
Celtic have had a strong French connection in recent seasons but with Olivier Ntcham likely to leave it could fall to Chris Jullien to give Rosier the inside track about life in Scotland.
