Celtic are reported to be in ‘direct contact’ to sign Carl Starfelt.
The 26-year-old looks to be ‘oven-ready’ to go straight into the Celtic defence but is under contract with Rubin Kazan until June 2024.
That contract was signed in February 2016 but could have a buy-out option if an offer of a certain value comes in.
Starfelt left IFK Gotaborg in 2019 for the Russian side where he has been a regular in central defence but struggled to make an impact on the Swedish national side with just three caps to his name.
