Tyrone Mings has delivered a brilliant attack on Priti Patel, the Tory Home Secretary.
Patel has pushed a really strong anti-immigration line with asylum seekers a particular target as the events in Kenmure Street, Pollokshields recently illustrated.
Before the European Championships got underway Patel and Boris Johnson were defending the right of fans to boo England players taking the knee, that was seen as backing for the extreme right-wing elements to continue their abuse of footballers.
Mings, Gareth Southgate and others spoke out against that viewpoint with the Tories in conflict with Marcus Rashford last year as he shamed them into policy U-turns.
In a further bid to distance themselves from the Government the England team has donated their prize money from the European Championships to NHS charities.
