The Bertie Auld mural has been located in his native Maryhill, his bithplace and home of Partick Thistle where he managed in the seventies.
Since it was announced that the 83-year-old had passed away there has been an outpouring of emotion from Celtic fans, many recalling their personal experiences with the legendary Lisbon Lion.
At lunchtime today The Green Brigade tweeted a picture of a mural of Auld taken in near darkness. The image epitomised Auld in his prime, the minder and master of Jock Stein’s all conquering side.

You were the spirit of that most famous Celtic side. More impressively, you remained the spirit of Celtic no matter the side or generation. You were the embodiment of Celtic.

Auld enjoyed two stints playing for Celtic, either side of a spell in England with Birmingham City.
Alongside Bobby Murdoch in midfield he was pivotal to Celtic’s success as they fed an attacking front four with full-backs Tommy Gemmell and Jim Craig forever on the overlap.
There has been a flow of tributes to Auld at Celtic Park today and on social media with emotions certain to be running high on Saturday when Celtic face St Johnstone at Hampden, the scene of many of his greatest triumphs.
