Celtic and Hibs fans are in for a social media treat today as angry bears swamp the platforms with their anger and outrage at yesterday’s result at Hampden.

Defeats can sometimes just about be tolerated but not in the manner of yesterday.

The Battle Fever was topped up by the appointment of Giovanni van Bronckhorst, the orange rags were dug out to illustrate their staunchness with Hibs served up on a platter as revenge for that day in May 2016.

Being 3-0 down shocked the People to the core but a tame second half with barely an effort on target isn’t acceptable. Meanwhile Giovanni van Bromckhorst tucked into pies and sandwiches with Douglas Park while David McCallum delivered his half time team talk.

Staunch Bear: I promised myself that I wouldn’t go on and give the moon-howlers something to go on but it is embarrassing and f****ng terrible.

Loyal Bear: Yeah, I agree with you there. All the other side of the city if you want something to watch to enjoy yourself tune in, it’ll be a good one. Today, I’m sorry, it wasn’t good enough for Rangers Football Club.

Hairy Bear: This was disastrous, wasn’t it, really. We all thought, we’ve got Gio in, we’ll do this, and we’ve made an arse of it for ourselves. And there are a few players in that team that can get out the now, one in particular

The one in particular is Connor Goldson, one of last season’s heroes who after the match delivered the most telling interview of the season, an arrow through the heart of every gullible bear who has been brought up on tales of No Surrender.

Deluded doesn’t begin to describe the thoughts of the three fans who probably believe that they follow the most successful club in the world. Last season Hibs played in three cup semi-finals at Hampden- three more than Steven Gerrard’s hide-and-seek champions.

With their wounds still raw the former Shrewsbury ace told Premier Sports that the match was over at 3-1, at half time with 45 minutes still to be played. Why? Because there is no hunger in the dressing room full of legends wearing the iconic Castore Sport kit.

Goldson is in his fourth season at Ibrox, clearly he doesn’t know the delusions of the fans that have paid his wages as he prepares to exit next year.

Most fans on social media don’t want to see a coward play for the club again, with Pip Helander injured and Jack Simpson left out of the Europa League Goldson will be one of the first names on the team sheet to face Sparta Prague on Thursday.

One piece of good news was the second appearance in eight months of Ryan Jack, appearing as a substitute midway through the second half.
